Lancaster Little League President's Message

Hello everyone!  It is hard to believe that the 2010 baseball season is fast approaching. Registration will begin this month.

As President of Lancaster Little League, I would like to take a moment of your time to bring everyone up to speed.  We have a great board of Directors in place to serve the young ball players of Lancaster and we hope to expand our girls Softball League which made great strides last year.  I am excited about the upcoming season and I am always looking for ways to improve our league.

The following is a list of the 2010 Lancaster Little League Board of Directors:

President – Stephen Mudgett, my third year as President and I look forward to more exciting improvements and challenges this year.

Vice President / Treasurer – Matthew Zeh returns for a second year in this role.

Secretary/Player Agent Representative – Meredith Sousa is a new addition to our 2010 Lancaster Little League Board.

Safety and Crisis Management Officer – Paul Morrison enters his sophomore year as Safety officer and will also continue to coach.

Purchasing Agent – Mike Kolakowski joins the Board this year in this new role.

Equipment Manager – Wayne Jones, who has also coached in the past, will serve as our equipment manager this year.

Challenger League – Joe Kennedy – will continue for the third season to run our Challenger League, which has been an outstanding success.  Joe has provided Lancaster Little League with probably one of the greatest opportunities for young boys and girls who may not otherwise have such a chance.  I already have several young boys and girls asking if they can help with the Challenger league again this year because they too had a great experience.

Girls Softball Representative – Tracy Culkins will help undertake this position as we look to expand on last year’s softball success.

T-Ball Coordinator – Kathryn Howland, who has been the coordinator for several years now and has done a tremendous job.  We look forward to her continued support for the upcoming season.

League Umpire in Chief - Dean Harris – Dean has provided tremendous umpiring service for the Lancaster Little League for many years.  We certainly look forward to his continued participation in 2010.  Dean is also involved in the girls’ softball league and has been to the Softball World Series.  Deans experience and knowledge is immeasurable.  We look forward to his return this upcoming season.

Board Members - Jim Atkinson and Ken Frommer will join the board as at-large members. I look forward to their contributions.

I would like to take the opportunity to personally thank the above individuals for volunteering their time and efforts to Lancaster Little League and youth baseball.  It is because of their time and dedication that we can make a league like ours continue to prosper.  I look forward to the 2010 season.

Keep in mind, as we update the website and begin the registration process, we are always looking for not only young ball players, but new volunteers, coaches, new board members, as well as snack shack help, etc.  It takes a community effort to continue to provide the best program possible for our young players.

Sincerely,
Stephen Mudgett

Lancaster Little League President
